Harry Root, co-founder (with his wife Nicki) of Grassroots will guide us through examples of the “New” California Wine Movement. Reacting against the over-the-top, over-ripe, fruit bomb style that has become synonymous with California winemaking, some California winemakers have sought to create more balanced old world style wines. As Harry tells the story of “New” California we’ll taste wines from some of the shining stars of this movement, a couple of old world inspirations, and a wonderful counter example of the “old” California. Join us for what promises to be a fantastic evening!
