Australian Wines, Tasting Seminar, Friday October 30th, 7-9pm

With Danielle as our enthusiastic guide, we’ll have a great experience sampling first class wines from Australia, one of our favorite wine-producing areas. We’ll look at the character of the regions, the varietal qualities of these wines and learn about the producers and winemakers. And… simply enjoy the wines!

Bread, cheese and nibbles will be served. We will begin promptly at 7 pm and taste the wines in sequence, with comments on each wine. The tasting will last approximately 2 hours. Special prices on the wines will be offered to attendees Paid reservations are $20 per person. Reservations must be paid when they are made to get the special price. You may make your reservation at Wine World in person or by telephone on your charge card. Entry at the door—if space is available—will be $25 per person.

Sauvignon Blanc 2013, McNab Ridge, Mendocino, Ca. $10.99
Clean crisp flavors of lemon rind, tropical fruit and varietal grassy notes. The acidity is mouth watering with a light tart finish. Fresh oysters, goat cheese or a citrus glazed chicken.

Blanco 2014, Bodegas Tobia, Rioja, Spain $11.99
Clear and bright pale yellow. Intense on the nose with passion fruit, pear and citrus fruit. Palate of tropical and citrus fruit. Aperitif, grilled or sautéed fish, seafood, pasta and paella.

Chardonnay 2014, Cautivo Joven $9.99
Unoaked Fruity aromas that remind of pineapple, apple and white peach. In the mouth it is expressive and fresh, with a very nice acidity. Grilled Chicken Salad , Curry, Tacos

Red Blend NV, Sacred Stone Master, Pietra Santa, Ca. $10.99
Merlot, Sangiovese, Zinfandel, and Dolcetto. Intense spicy cedar and clove Aromas of wild berries, fruit punch. Flavors of cherries and plums. Hanger Steak, Beef Stew, Pizza.

Cabernet Sauv, Straphanger, Pacific Edge, Paso Robles, Ca. $12.99
Red brick color, with black fruit and blackberry aromas. Toasted notes with a hint of herbs. Nice finish with smooth and dry tannins. Burgers, pizza, and marinated ribeye steak.

Zinfandel 2013, Three Zin, Cline, Contra Costa, Ca. $14.99
There is a deep concentration of ripe black cherries and spice with a minerality (earthy berry) sneaking through. The mouth-feel is rich and balanced with a lingering peppery finish. Calf Liver, Duck breast. Braised short ribs.
