Wine World Wines, Thursday April 19th 2018:

Chateau La Freynelle Blanc 2016 Bourdeaux France
Sauvignon Blanc, Semillion, Muscadelle
Brilliant straw robe. Lovely Fruit nose of white peaches, citrus fruits, and beeswax. Elegant, charming palate with good fruit flavors and a smooth buttery finish.
A lovely dry wine that is very refreshing. Serve chilled with seafood, pasta, chicken, veal, and pork.
Trivento Torrontes Reserve, Mendoza, Argentina
Golden yellow in color with greenish reflections. An alluring bouquet with floral notes of roses and violets and hints of citrus. On the palate, the wine is crisp and well-structured, offering flavors of delicate tropical fruit and citrus.
Pairs wonderfully with seafood, grilled poultry, and other white meat. It also goes well with spicy Asian fare.
Willamette Valley Vineyard Riesling  2015  Willamette Valley Oregon
This semi-sweet wine opens with luscious aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is juicy with bright acidity that activates the palate and displays flavors of peach, pineapple and honeysuckle. The finish is wonderfully persistent with balance of sweetness and refreshing crispness. Serve well-chilled and allow to warm in your glass for optimal enjoyment of aroma and flavor. Perfect as an aperitif or as an ideal pairing to spicy Asian dishes, seafood and rich cheeses. This wine is versatile enough for dessert pairings like fruit tarts or savory options like blue cheese creme brulee.
Gouguenheim Merlot Mendoza, Argentina
This Merlot has a dark ruby color with a bouquet of red and black fruits such as cherries, blackberries, and red currants. On the palate it shows rich flavors and lots of fruits in the mouth. It has a good balance and a long finish.
Roast duck, lamb chops grilled on vine prunings and flavored with oregano. Drink as an aperitif too.
Masi Campofiorin Rosso del Veronese Veneto, Italy
With an intense, ruby-red color and violet traces, the wine shows generous, ripe aromas of plum and cherry jam, with hints of spice. Bold and rich flavors of bitter cherries and berry fruits stand out on the palate, with good acidity, balance and velvety tannins.
This very versatile wine is perfect with many different foods, including pasta with rich meat- or mushroom-based sauces, grilled or roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses.
Kenwood Six Ridges Alexander Valley Cabernet
Wonderfully complex aromas of fig, plum, and ripe berry join subtle hints of vanilla, cocoa nibs, and cola. This wine has a full-bodied mouthfeel with complex tannins that give way to a lingering, silky finish.
Being both full-bodied and elegant, this Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent accompaniment to richly flavored food such as Barbeque Beef Ribs, Chicken with Port and Figs, or Pan-Roasted Veal Chops with Mushrooms.
